Separating water by electrolysis

An alkaline water ionizer filters tap water and electrolyzes it in a cell: alkaline ionized water forms at the cathode and acidic water at the anode. MEDIQUA uses platinum-coated titanium plates and lets you choose from 4 alkaline levels, 4 acidic levels and purified water.

In Korea, alkaline water ionizers are medical devices regulated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety; their approved indication is the improvement of four gastrointestinal symptoms (chronic diarrhea, indigestion, abnormal intestinal fermentation and hyperacidity).

Filter
A two-stage filter removes sediment, residual chlorine and more from tap water.

Electrolyze
Water is electrolyzed in a cell with platinum-coated titanium plates.

Alkaline ionized water flows from the cathode side, acidic water from the anode side.

Pick the alkaline, acidic or purified level that suits the use.

Water types and uses

pH 8.0–10.0

Alkaline ionized water

For drinking. The approved medical-device indication is improving four gastrointestinal symptoms. Higher levels are used for cooking and broth.

Neutral

Purified water

Filtered without electrolysis. Use it when taking medicine.

pH 3.0–5.0

Acidic water

Not for drinking — for external use such as face washing and cleaning dishes, cutting boards, fruit and vegetables.
